Capacity Building

Climate Change, Agriculture, and Water Resources

June 23, 2010
Frederick , MD

To begin a regional effort that addresses the impacts of climate change on agricultural production and water resource management in the Mid-Atlantic, the MAWP hosted an invitation-only workshop that included participation from climate, agricultural, and natural resource scientists from across Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The goals of the meeting were to:

  1. Introduce and build a common understanding amongst scientists working in agricultural production, water resources, and climate science;
  2. Identify needs in decision-making and facilitate a discussion of what information gaps require greater research and what tools need developing; and,
  3. Develop partnerships and ideas to build into proposals for further funding of tool development and research.
