Maintaining Safe Drinking Water for Private Systems

More than 2 million homes in the Mid-Atlantic rely on private water systems to provide safe drinking water. Maintaining these systems rests on the shoulders of those who drink the water, but few well owners receive instructions manuals on caring for their systems, much less information on the importance of testing their water. The Mid-Atlantic Water Program offers two ways for well owners to learn about maintaining their systems and ensuring safe drinking water.

The Master Well Owner Network: Learn how to maintain safe drinking water in your home and then become a volunteer to teach others in your community on how to prevent drinking water contamination.

Drinking Water Clinics: Get your well water tested and then learn how you can maintain safe drinking water for your home.
